I'm 15 and have had a spinal cord stimulator implanted (for complex regional pain syndrome/reflex sympathetic dystrophy in my right leg) in my spine (which has requied 3 surgeries to sucessfully implant). My lumbar spine where the leads are implanted is very sore, and often times I have trouble standing up straight without pain. I also have Keloid scarring condition so I have lots of extra scar tissue around my spine. What would be some suggestions as to what to do to help with my back pain? I have been using ice, streching, and taking Advil which don't seem to help much.

The keloid scarring may be compressing some nerves causing or adding to the discomfort.

This is a question for a doctor or a pain clinic to address.

Good luck.

I know back pain is no fun. You are too young for that surgery and I dont understand ur health circumstances before surgery. Some surgens perform surgery just to make money and I am serious about that. I am not saying that you surgeon did it also just to give you an idea. I am a chiropractor by profession but I am afraid to give you a wrong advice which could deteriorate your health condition. Dont ask these types of sophisticated health questions from this community because you will be given the wrong info which will worsen your current condition. You should go and consult with your specialist or doctor and any excercise that you do, he/she must approve.

This is my sincere advise. If you had just complaint about back pain and stuff, I have plenty of useful tips and advice but your case, dont list to no one but your specialist or doc.

Soon recovery! take good care of yourself, hunny!
