Did you submit an SF180 to the Board of Corretions. You will probably get the promotion. Get it done right away there is an absolute time limit.

Well, you have confused me, because I thought you had to be an E-5 to retire....I thought high year tenure would kick you out as an E-4 before retiring.

Regardless of what I have said, the answer is absolutely not. In order to retire at a certain rank you have to have held that rank for a certain period of time. I have seen guys make E-9 but did not want to do another 2 or 3 years as an E-9 to get retirement at that rank. So I have seen guys put on E-9 and retire, but get paid as E-8 throughout retirement.

So even if it was found that the promotion board was not fair, etc...there is nothing to say that once you put on E-5 that you would have not gotten busted back down before retiring. So, sorry, but I do not think you have a chance at all.

Good luck though.

One, you cannot retire as an E-4 from the army. You get seperated. E-5 with promotable status yes. And to clue the navy guy in, in the army you go to a promotion board when you are an E-4 to get E-5, only special case is a star MOS, but you still have to attend a board to keep the promotion. And I'm sorry if this offends you, but if you got kicked cause you couldn't make E-5 in todays army, then there is really something wrong with you.

Unless you are in the reserves and even then I am sure that there are guide lines about high year tender . Should you be on active duty that is a bogus statement, No one is able to retire as a E4 in to days US military with the exception of medical cases the high year tender is 10yrs for a E4 and its 15 for a E5 so even had you made that you could not have retired.

Yes.

However, retiring at 20 years as an E4? How many times in 20 years did you come up for E5? Are you going to try to claim ALL of the promotion boards were unfair? Good luck.

You would have more success getting your VA disability rating increased, thus getting more money by that route.

Sorry no longer an mp yet i grow to be doing criminal justice returned at castle campbell. i grow to be attempting to do the completed police officer situation. Even without being an mp and in basic terms having military history places you in a extra robust spot than widespread joes with an degree. yet of direction with mp expierence yea you would be straight away yet! keep in mind you will be able to desire to get faraway from a protection stress base whilst using for this police officer activity. That grow to be my mistake, your military history does not help if that's close to a protection stress positioned up. To lots of the comparable opposition, so flow to a place the place they don't have plenty protection stress. returned in 2003 there grow to be a sprint preserving facility on base in Mosul. The mp's there might basicly watch them and do there situation. i understand they flow out on highway patrols and what now additionally. do no longer probably understand a lot approximately that so no longer gonna say. in basic terms take my advice on the 1st area, i might say its risky.

I didn't realize any branch used a promotion board at E-4, being a navy vet that just seems bizarre.

technically...you didn't "RETIRE" if you didn't do at least 20 yrs. Retirement is for the folks who devote their lives to the military. you made it as far as an E-4? You didn't retire, you got out.

So, you got told you did not make the cut off for e5 and now come here to whine about it?

Next you are going to claim it's a battle injury and you medically retired so you want the promotion to up your pay. Either way your tale smells of da poo.

Once you have retired, you can longer get promoted. Only active duty and reserve personnel in drilling status can be promoted.
