Microsoft word problem (opening)?

Question

When i click on the icon, first the icon twitches a couple times than it shows that small box while loading that shows owner and stuff, but it opens for about 2 seconds and just closes with no warning. It does this repeatedly, scanned it with norton, its not spy ware, and i can't reinstall......one that gives the answer to fix gets the points.

Try to remove microsoft word from the add/remove programs under control panel. Once it's removed try reinstalling it. Hopefully it will work. Good luck ^_^

See if you can do a Word repair this way:

If you can't get into Word at all, you can go to your Windows Control Panel and double-click on Add/Remove Programs and double-click on Microsoft Office in this list and you will see an option to repair Office. Both of these require the Office CD to complete. However, if this still doesn't cure your problem or if you are using Word 97, which does not have Detect and Repair, you will have to uninstall and reinstall.

Have you tried to use the REPAIR function?

Go into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Click on the listing for Microsoft Office
Click the CHANGE button
A Microsoft Office Setup window will open
Choose "Repair Office - Restore your Microsoft Office...to original state."
