ok, well my wedding was pushed forward to december 07 and so i tried my best to organise everything really really quickly.. booked a place, minister, holliday, dress, bridesmaid dresses, cake design ..etc
anyway, circumstances have luckily changed and i am now getting married in november 08, this means 11 months later.. it gives me a lot more time to relax and spread out the stress
here is my prob- i have bought my dress, i have one payment left.. it was an expensive dress $2000 ( i can't get a refund because of the alterations) but i only bought it because the wedding had to be pushed forward and i was in a rush to get one on time (not my fault, fiancee's work situation had changed)...
am i justified to buy ANOTHER dress.. i really want one, and i know they are expensive, or should i just wear it because i hate the thought of waisting that money..?

if you are not happy with your dress you shouldn't have to be stuck with it because this is your big day. i would try to sell it somewhere and make a nice profit, and search for that new dress that makes you feel ready to walk down that Aile

I would discuss it with your fiance and if the money situation is okay, then I might start to shop around. However, if I were you I might try to find a dress that was not so expensive . You might find that once you shop around again you will see you do indeed have the right dress. My wedding dress was the first I tried on and I didn't think I liked it, however after I shopped around for two more months I came back to that dress and realized it was a great dress. I don't believe there is just one special dress for a bride. Is there only one dress you look good in normally? No, so if the money might be an issue, I would not go in debt over it. You will look beautiful and feel like a princess no matter what. Good luck and congrats!

I would totally sell it and buy the dress you want. If you were able to afford $2000 in the first place, just for the dress, then I am sure you can afford to lose some money on the situation and get the dress of your dreams. It is your wedding, you are the one in the spot light, do not wear something that doesnt make you feel like a princess.

Funny thing is, i'm actually considering looing for a new dress as well although mine was only 800 compared to your 2000. I love my dress when i try it on but kinda not.(sorry if that doesn't make sense). Anyhow, my opinion is that you look for the dress that you like. You don't want to look at you wedding photos 50 years from now and wish that you would've kept looking. I agree with another answer that said "try to sell it on ebay" to at least get SOME of the $ back. Good luck

If you have 11 months till the wedding I would keep the dress for 7 months look at it often try it on often and at the end of that time you decide you still can't stand it then buy another. Your wedding day is YOUR day do it like you want! You should never look at your pictures and think to your self I hated that dress why didn't I get another!

You can definitely try to sell that one on Ebay, as you never wore it, it should be worth most of it's original value. Even so, you can network with other brides (catch them at bridal expos) and explain the situation. You might have to drop the price a bit, but nevertheless, a little money back is better than none. With whatever is profited from that, you should be able to buy a beautiful dress. ($2000 is rather expensive, great dresses can be found for under $1k).

If you have your heart set on another dress then I say go for it. You can always sell the one you've got. If you have not found another one you like then chances are you won't.
Most brides fall in love with the dress and then end up buying it.
If you are going to sell it make sure you have another one just in case. Also try aking different boutique and bridal shops about their sample sales. A lot of time you will find designer dress fot 40 to 75 percent off.

It is your wedding, if you can financially swing it I say buy the new dress, sell the old one on e-bay or donate it to one of the charities that take the profits for breast cancer, or whatever you like. You want to look as beautiful as possible on your wedding day, the last thing you really want to do is spend the rest of your life looking at pictures of yourself in a dress you hate... I say GO FOR IT!!!

You have 11 months to finance another dress. Sell the one you have on Ebay and recover some of your cost. Buy the dress of your dreams. You have to love the way you look on your wedding day, no compromises!

you only bought the dres you did becuase the wedding had to be pushed forward and you still spent $2000 on it? are you out of your mind? unless your miss moneybags then I would not be buying another dress. even if you tried to sell it you wouldnt get anywhere near $2000 for it. I'd wear what you have.

Spending $2,000 plus alterations I would NOT be buying another dress!!!!
You could always ebay or craigslist or something with it, but with alterations your price would get cut down and you wouldn't benefit in the long run.
