I think now since Dale has fallen out of top 12 he is given up. The reason i think this is cuz he's gonna have new and way better engines cars and team. I would give up now he dont got much of a chance now

He's only in 14th and there are still 4 races until the chase. He could make it still. Kurt Busch is a hot head and will still be in a wreck or 2 between now and the chase, so don't give up on JR.
(Not that I like him or anything, but he will be teammates with my man, Casey Mears, next season, so I guess I have to be nice now...)

I say he still has some hope but the 2 and 12 will be hard to pass in points, maybe in a couple years after Jr get good in Hendrick equipment he will start to be competive and rin for the championship

He's asked the fans not to give up on the DEI team.
I don't think he would ask the fans to do something he himself could or woud not do.
Support your driver where he is now. When he makes his move to HMS continue to support him.
He mad a good move to HMS.

If he hadn't blown the motor he would have been in the top 10 at Watkins Glen, wouldn't he? That doesn't sound like "giving up" to me.

Remember Tony was not in the chase last year and he became the spoiler in the final races.
