a swollen muscle, maybe intercostals or the pectoral group. How do you sleep? O n your side or with your arm resting under your rib cage? First take note on your sleeping positions. Take pressure off your ribs and use ice 1-2x daily. If it still hurts like crazy, then see a doctor

Have you done any vigorous exercising? It could be muscles. You could always try ice, maybe some Icey Hot. Give it a few more days and see if it doesn't clear up on it's own. If not, a quick check up wouldn't hurt.

You may have ripped a "intercostal" muscle which is the muscles that allow your ribs to move when you breath. it is possible you sneezed or excessive coughing. go to the doctor in case.
