Usually (though not always) cancer is painless. If the lump is sore and tender, it is most likely a cyst or it could be an enlarged lymph node (there are many lymph nodes in that area). If you are concerned, get it checked out at your next doc appointment.

hey, apprently cancer dosen't hurt.... unless your in the very late stages of it, with bone etc.... however im going through treatments for bc and had pain on and off for a year under my arm towards my boob , but then found a lump!! don't worry though, could be something to do with your glands!!!! Just get a check up with the doc and check your breasts reguarly! You'll be right! good luck!

Typically, breast cancer is regarded as painless in the early stages.

I was told that it was unlikely the lump in my breast was cancerous as it was tender, normally this indicates a cyct.

Biopsy proved otherwise!

If in doubt, get it checked.

Delay doesn't change the diagnosis, just the chance of full recovery!

if it's only occasionally, i'd say it's not a tumor but most likely a cyst. however, i'm not a doc. do you feel any lumps?any type of pain in your breast should be checked by your m.d.
