My mum and I are planning trip to England next June/July and we have started planning it already. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend places to visit, sites to see, stores to go to, etc... We're going to be there between 2-3 weeks. So, any suggestion anywhere would be fantastic, we're planning on going to as many places as possible. Also, we very much engoy vintage shopping and museums and things like that. Thanks so much!

York is a beautiful place you can visit the minster the museum, walk around the city wall and even do some shopping,,jorvic is an ancient underground city that was uncovered while digging out a shopping centre really worth a look..But if you are into scenery you cant go past the Lake District it is Breathtaking.

Hi Amanda,
You'll be able to see a lot in the UK in 2-3 weeks, but I can still imagine that it will be difficult to choose! London and Bath sound ideal for you if you like shops and museums. For vintage - make sure that you visit Camden & Portobello Markets in London.
Also, you might want to look at the lens that I made on top places to visit in the UK, which lists some of the most famous sights and gives you links to information as well. http://www.squidoo.com/10-places-to-see-in-the-uk-before-you-die . Obviously there is a lot more to see, but this might help you start to plan a trip.
Have a great time!

Ok so you gotta go to London also you will love York in the north of England lots of very old buildings and streets called the shambles. It has a massive minster (church) and lots of good shops as well as the jorvic center a museum about an underground settlement and also the york dungeons where you learn about them and the people who were tortured there.
I would also reccomend blackpool, it is a seaside resort with the tall blackpool tower that you can go right to the top of and see the ballroom. It has the blackpool pleasure beach which is very good theme park with many old rollercoasters and some great new ones. The beach is very nice and has lots of donkey rides along the beach as well as a long pier to walk along out in the sea. There is also blackpool zoo.
Dont forget the lake district which has amazing views and sceenery.
Have a brilliant time. Good luck planning!

Hi Amanda, I wouldnt recommend staying in London because of the rip off costs ( even to us ) but it is worth a visit. Research some of the following to get the most from your trip. Warwick Castle, The Peak District, Snowdonia National Park, The Lake District, The Cotswolds, Stratford on Avon ( if you dont mind hoardes of American tourists ) Malaham Cove and Harrogate, a Canal trip, The Isle of Whight, St Ives in Cornwall. I think any combination of those would make for a great holiday. I hope you have a lovely trip.

There are 3 countries in large Britain (generally shortened to Britain or GB). those are England, Scotland and Wales. England is not any doubt certainly one of the countries that makes up large Britain, yet somebody who's British isn't unavoidably English. the united kingdom is made out of the three countries of england, with the (debatable) inclusion of Northern eire. An English individual is the two English and British/from the united kingdom (and eu) - a splash like a clean Yorker is likewise an American (swapping State for united states).

London - Lots to see and do, but it is quite expensive so I wouldn't suggest staying there very long.
York - I live near York and its is really beautiful. Theres loads of tourist places and little shops, I could stay there all day!
Also there ghost tours and things like that at night, as York is a very historical town and its supposed to be haunted.
