How is a golf course in penn, open year round?

Easy. If it is in southern Pennsylvania it most likely gets very little snow. It's still going to be cold as a witch's tit...but they'll keep the links open as long as people are crazy enough to play.

The Kittatiny Ridge (aka Blue Mountain) is traditionally accepted among geographers as the division line between two climate zones (can't rememeber exactly which ones) and anything south of the ridge will be warmer than the places to the north.

Prime example of this is March. While the Poconos are still covered in snow, Rhodedendon bushed are beginning to bud in Philly.

I'm close to southern PA (Hanover area) and some winters we do not have all that much snow. We also have alot of above normal "warm" days throughout the winter.
There are quite a few courses around here that stay open year round.
