Hi I understand how you feel. The cutting is a deep seeded problem that you need to have addressed. Just realize you are not alone...SO many people are diagnosed with depression all the time. What helped me get out of mine was a combination of therapy, drugs, and realizing that other people have it way worse than me and I should feel lucky. I also volunteered and helped others less fortunate and it made me feel better. Please see if you can talk to someone about this and get professional advice. Good luck.

Definitely suffering from some type of depression if these symptoms that you are suffering that are more than 4 weeks. I suggest you should see a professional because your behavior is affecting your life in a very negative way. I'm highly concern about this due to the fact that you tried to hurt yourself. Behavior that causes harm to others, self, or property needs immediate attention.
- never been that happy, became miserable
- withdrawal from social activities
- thoughts of suicide
-lose interests in things you usually enjoy
-emotional, cry
Based on what you said, these are symptoms of depression. Please consult a therapist so he/she can help you figure out exactly what you are experiencing. Good luck!

I am soo sorry. how is your relationship with your parents? You should try talking to them or your guidance counselor. I don't mean to get all religious on you but God is the only way you will truly be happy. Just pray, ask God to help you. He loves you so much and he doesn't want you to suffer. Get out a bible and read 1 Chronicles 16:10-12
"Glory in his holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
Seek his face always.
Remember the wonders he has done,
His miracles, and the judgments he pronounced."
I know where you are coming from. And trust me when I was in your place I didn't want to hear how God loved me, b/c I didn't feel loved, I felt alone and worthless. But there is light on the other side. I will be praying for you. I pray that you find your way out of this. I pray that you find hope. You deserve better. Your life has just begun please don't destroy it.

Encourage you to get together and talk to
a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapist.
There is an excellent book out which you could pick up to read/apply called:
"The Mindful Way through Depression"
by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It comes with a 50 min.
CD also. This book teaches all the skills and techniques needed to alleviate depression and anxiety to have a calmer mind and to be happy.

Sounds pretty normal to me. It's tough being a kid these days.
I'm not comfortable with you cutting yourself though and I don't want you to hurt yourself.
You sound STUCK.
You need a new plan. I suggest a fitness plan and a visit to a counselor to talk with about your feelings.
Here are some good ideas:
1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.
4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)
5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee.
6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.
8. Avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.
Tone up the muscles:
1. Join a gym and get a trainer.
2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen.
3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.
4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike.
5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.
6. Join the local YMCA..
Mental Health:
1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings.
2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to.
3. Learn how to meditate.
4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with.
5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance.
6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings & thoughts.
7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night.
8. Do something that makes you happy each day like: listen to your favorite music, draw, paint, write, or anything creative.
9. Do something for someone else who needs help.

If you've been feeling this way for more than two weeks, that's indicative of depression. If you have lost interest in everything you used to like, you're thinking of suicide, and have even engaged in mutilating behaviors, you're almost certainly depressed. This goes way, way beyond hormones going bonkers.
Please talk to your parents about getting help. Especially since you have attempted suicide more than once.
