I have very moderate sunburn on my arms, shoulders, back and belly. How do I make it stop hurting so I can sleep at night?

Also, how long does it take for the sunburn's pain to go away? How about redness?

I've used a towel soaked in vinegar on a new sunburn. It reeks, but it helps pull the heat out. Try taking some ibuprofen or tylenol before bed to help you get some sleep

I always use white vinegar on my sunburn. Although the smell isn't the best, it takes the burn out and greatly reduces the pain. Just wet a washcloth with it and set it on your burn. It will especially help on your shoulders where it typically hurts the most. It will soothe the burn long enough for you to fall asleep.
I would also suggest getting some Infusium leave-in conditioner. It comes in a blue bottle. Get the moisturizing formula. Rub it on your skin. It soaks right in and doesn't leave you feeling greasy or smell like anything. It will help prevent peeling and will help cool the burn. The more you apply it, the more it helps. Those are the two home remedies I always use. Usually the pain and redness will go away on their own in a few days. Good luck!

How Long Does Sunburn Hurt

Aloe Vera gel or another moisturizing lotion.

The healing time depends on the severity of the burn and the skin of the person. I think most burns heal completely in 1 or 2 weeks. The pain and redness usually go away after a few days to 1 week. After the pain/redness are gone it will probably start to peel and be very itchy.

Buy some Aloe Vera for sunburn near the tanning lotions at the store and put it in the fridge for a little while. This will soothe the burn and help it heal faster. Another good one is Noxema. You should be healed up in about a week but the pain should ease off in several days.

I really can't feel sorry for you at this point as I am sitting here freezing with the flu and I wish so much it was summer here. But I do get sunburnt a lot so I can offer you some advise. There are special gels that will ease the pain. They feel really cool when you apply them. Important to buy a gel as the lotions don't feel that cool when you apply them. I live in Australia but if you have "Priceline" there you can buy it there otherwise you could go to any store that sells lotions and creams. Unfortunately you are burnt everywhere which means you have no body part that you can sleep on but it helps if you sleep just in underwear on cool sheets like silk or satin and keep a cool fan on you. It is hard to say how long you will be in pain for as the pain eases slowly over time but the worst of it should be gone in about 2-3 days. Then it will get itchy but when you scratch it will hurt and then the peeling starts but by then you shouldn't have any more pain - just skin everywhere!

Burns come in different degrees too start with. You use the term a moderate burn, so I will take it upon myself and say that you don't have any blisters. If you do have blisters, do not break them as this only lends itself for an infection. If the skin is intact, you can apply Nupercainal ointment, as this will help numb the burn, also use Motrin tablets if your not allergic to them and use cool showers. What makes a burn hurt, is the air or oxygen getting to the tissue. So if the burn is covered with an ointment, it reduces the flow of air to it. I know that Nupercainal ointment is for hemorrhoids, but it is used alot for burns.

Alo vera.

You start to peal after 1 or 2 days, the peal last for about 2 more days at the longest.

Pain and redness depend on the person.

If you have fair skin like me it takes forever.

I use Aloe Vera and my skin cools instantly it feels great. Then once the pealing stops and or blistering I use coco butter lotion to replenish and heal the skin.

Good luck!

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/Ka9a7
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
