Do some research online and see if that is even what you want to do. It is not a business that you can jump right inot. You definitely need to take event planning or wedding corrdinating courses. Client take you more seriously if you have a certificate. You will need a certain amount of oney to start up your own business and it takes a lot of time and a lot of effort to build your business.

I thought about doing this, but I don't think I could handle all the stressed out brides in the last few days before their wedding! LOL. Anyway, you might have to take an event planning course. Some community colleges offer them. You could also do a search on the internet for wedding planner and see what comes up. When I did that, I got a lot of links for courses to take. There's also a school in Colorado that offers a wedding planning course by correspondence. You do not need to live in Colorado to take it. Here is the link:

Just know that you will most likely not make a living at it. There are very few of them in every city that really make enough to do it full time. If you make $10k in a year you'll be doing good. It's generally a part time job at the most.

Most wedding coordinators I know make maybe $5k a year.

You would need a lot of experience with weddings and need to research local vendors as if you were planning a wedding so that you can get the feel for them. Then you'll need to know the rip offs and the deals. Youll need to know the trends. You'll probably need to start your own business.
