im seventeen and 5'9. im overweight but at the same time im pretty built. i lift weights 3-4 days a week and do cardio whenever i feel like it (once a week?). right now im 180lbs. i started exercising and eating around 1500 calories a day when summer started and ive lost 15lbs so far.

my questions are:
- if i continue doing what i do until christmas can i make it?
- if not what do i need to do?
- any other helpful tips much appreciated

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), weight training a few days a week but never work on the same muscle group two days in a row (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

If you can live on just 1500 calories a day, that's cool, but Upping that may help you lose faster, better metabolism, better strength, more muscle growth, muscles burn more calories, you could get it by Halloween. I say up to at least 2200, and get a balance of about 40% protien,. 40% carbs, 20% fat. I think you'll find greater success.

Try the mayo clinic diet i lost 30 in three months. It's not good to lose weight that fast but it does work and if you keep exercising and watch yourself you can keep most of the weight off. Increase your cardio once a week is not enough at least three times a week if not more.

make an office snack box of your own so you re not tempted by your colleagues candy bowl fill it with small individually packaged portions of soy chips almonds and dried fruit

not only will you get in some exercise you re less likely to choose something unhealthy after a little movement

do your best to ensure you re not eating after 7 o clock at night you re more likely to make unhealthy choices and less likely to sleep as well after a late meal
