Me and my bf thinking to get married asap. The thing is we dont really know where to get married at. I want to get married in his country which in Europe but I dont know who I need to contact for a wedding planner there and what things I need to do here while I am in the States. I am so blind, don't know what I need to do first. It's not gonna be a big wedding but enough to celebrate among our family and close friends. Should I buy a wedding gown or rent it? my budget is kinda tight too? do people actually get a loan to plan a wedding, so they can have the wedding they want? do you guys have any idea? is there any website I can go to? thanks!

First off, have your groom contact the local (his local) court house and find out the rules for getting a marriage license, etc. Second, you will need someone there to help plan this. You can buy a dress states side and take it over there. Make sure you go in plenty of time to have the dress steam pressed before the wedding.

As for ideas on the wedding, email me at eb_stuff@yahoo.com and I will send you a 14 page WORD document on everything about weddings. Most of this will be decided by you two, but carried out by someone who lives there.

The first thing you need to do is to check in with the consulate from his country, then with an office of the American State Dept. They will help you with legal matters and papers. As for planning the wedding, I would rely on advice from some trusted member of his family.

not enough info. need to know where specifically you plan to wed. planning a wedding overseas is defiantely an expensiv affair. you may want to consider having a civil ceremony only to cut costs, but without knowing the locations, dates and budget, there's not much more I can offer.

If all else fails, get married in Las Vegas-this is where I married my German husband because it took us 5 minutes to get the license!!! We got fed up with European bureacracy, and married in the States, and will honeymoon in Italy.
