Miss Amanda, you do understand that I pay my taxes, so does my parents.
Now, answer me, WHY if an illegal alien pay in state tuition without paying ANY taxes for the most part) NOW, maybe I should get lower than state tuition since I pay my share

Im not sure where you getting this statistics from but I work around A LOT of illegals and none of them pay taxes.
I know so, because they said it in public, like they are proud of it. Their children go to school as well.

No. You can't get free housing, food stamps, free medical care, free education. You need to be an illegal to get any of those perks. Americans born here just get to pay for it.

What the mental midgets who answer it's not a grant don't seem to get is instate is almost always 2/3rds less expensive than out of state. That means some piece of trash illegal takes up a spot a resident should have gotten and in doing so they are not required to pay the HUGE fee for out of state tuition.
That means when they present their stolen SS# to the financial aid office they get money that they will never pay back. Which means we pay for it. Sort of the same way the lie to the hospitals and cost us billions in health care.
If you are too dense to understand the ever growing debt we, the hard working, tax paying Americans are incurring because of this trash they you deserve what's happening. Run off to Mexico and be an expat then come back and tell us all how dumb you were to defend these criminals.
So Amanda you are in collusion with the criminals by doing these supposed taxes and not reporting them? So you are part of the problem. No wonder you are defending them. You are part of the problem and should be in jail since you are a criminal as well.

I have not heard. At one time this was a pretty hot topic on here. As to the poster pointing out that is just a reduced from what those who are out of state pay - yes you are right it is not a grant it is what residents of the state pay. But the point is they are not legal residents of the state (not even legal residents of the US and most likely not paying taxes) anymore than I am a legal resident of the state of California since my primary residence is in another state.

for those who aren't aware, the lawsuit claims that there is a Federal law which requires the states to offer the same tuition to residents of other states as they routinely offer to persons who are not US citizens.
In the case, the claim is being made that California, by permitting illegal immigrants to pay instate tuition while students who previously resided in Nevada [or another state] are charged the higher out of state tuition, is in violation of this law.
I haven't seen the latest status of the case and I'm sure it can be googled by anyone who is interested.

Citizenship has nothing to do with tuition. If you LIVE in California PERMANENTLY, you pay in-state tuition. If you come to California for school, you pay out-of-state.

In state tuition is just lower tuition. Not a grant, first of all. Secondly, in state tuition is for people that live in the state. Which, they do. Yes, if you live in that state, you can get in-state tuition...........
IN STATE TUITION IS JUST LOWER_ ANYONE THAT LIVES IN THAT STATE PAYS THAT TUITION. THAT IS IT. Please see definition below. This is not a grant. It is not a government benefit, it is a lower amount charged to residents of that state.
* You have to establish California residence over 1 year (366 days) before application. So, move to a lower-expense area (there are lots of them) and, apply after a year. See link #2.
*60% of undocumented workers do pay taxes. In 1990, it was 1.2 billion in social security taxes. See link #3.
* Ok. I do taxes for lots of undocumented, and, they do pay (with a TIN). Also, when an employer pays an employee, the taxes are taken out for all employees. So, they are paying in each time they are paid and aren't receiving the benefits in return at the end of the year. They also pay taxes when they purchase homes, cars, rent apartments (owner is paying with their money), pay for gas, electric, water bills, put gas in car, buy groceries, clothing, car accessories, kitchen appliances, etc. etc.
