That's totally classified.

The general answer is below 800 feet and more than 30 knots.

U.S. nuclear-powered submarines can go faster than 25 knots (nautical miles per hour) underwater, which is approximately 29 miles per hour or 46 kilometers per hour. Nuclear power enables submarines to maintain these speeds for as long as needed, giving our submarines the capability to go anywhere in the world relatively quickly.

U.S. Navy submarines can submerge deeper than 800 feet. The actual depth is classified, but it is less than the deep-diving U.S. Navy-supported civilian research submarines that explore the bottom of the oceans.

that information is classified

the known most capable military submarine is the Russian Alfa class. It has a titanium hull and may be capable of very high speeds and deep depths.

{the old navy game Harpoon estimated the Alfa as capable of over 300 meters deep and speeds of 41 knots, if I remember correctly.}

:-)

Regardless what you will read about this info, it won't be true. The US military does not give out the actual figures on certain equipment. If they say 1000 meters of depth, you can be sure that it is deeper. To give the actual figures would give any enemy a heads up on whatever type of equipment they are discussing..

Secrecy is the military's middle name.

i believe, without proper displacement capability, they get to the bottom at the same speed as the titanic, the kursk, and the bismark.

It's classified. If I told you, I would have to kill you.
