At my wedding reception, the centerpieces are going to be jack-o-lanterns (fake ones) with candles inside of them. I was hoping to still give the centerpieces away, so I wanted to know what I could carve into the pumpkins that is 'general' enough that my guests would want to display the pumpkins every year (aka, not our names or wedding date), but still wedding themed! Any ideas? Thanks!!

My fiance and I met on Halloween - is it cheesy to want to 're-live' the night we met by recreating the atmosphere? I think not.

Different sized hearts all over the pumpkin would be really cute!

I like that idea, it's sounds so amazing. I would get a simple outline for a couple of doves, or maybe some hearts. Try picking up those pumpkin carving patterns too, they'll give you some ideas. You could also try a day of the dead bride and groom. I know that's a bit morbid, but it is halloween related.
Not to sound stupid, but are you having your wedding guests wear Halloween costumes too? That would be cute!

I think it will be beautiful! I had friends get married last year with a fall theme but they used pumpkins as centerpieces also.

I gave them the idea of using a drill bit, and carving random holes in the pumpkins. (I dont know how it will work on fake ones though) I think it looked awsome. It gives it a nice glow with the candles inside, but you dont have to worry so much about delicate cutting.

I doubt guests will want to display them every year. Sorry but I would think it was wayyyyy too cheesy if I walked into a halloween themed wedding with halloween carved jack-o-lanterns. I mean there's themed and then there's a point where it goes too far and looks immature. You should have your wedding that happens to be around halloween. Not halloween where you happen to get married. Understand what I'm getting at?

You could carve anything. Flowers, lacy design....anything. Just go to the clipart website. Pick a few and blow them up and pin them on the pumpkins. Oh, and those special knives they have for artificial pumpkins is almost a MUST when carving those things otherwise the edges look all ratty and sometimes you get random chunks coming off.

If you are putting a candle inside an aritifical pumpkin make sure to spray the whole thing well with non-flamabble sealant. When you cut it you will break any seal the makers had on it and some don't have one at all because they aren't inteded to be used with open flame.

Are you getting married ON Halloween....? I think it's a nice idea though. I think something like hearts or bells....you're thinking about your wedding to use them for....think about that before you go carving witches into your pumpkins at your wedding!

WOW! That is an awesome and creative idea. I have never heard of that! Something that is wedding-y... Bells are always good. Also, you can to two rings (wedding bands). Even a flower bud like a rose would be pretty. That is a cute idea! Good luck and congrats!

Bravo for being so creative. If you have a certain flower that is your theme would be a good idea, a heart, rings, ribbons, the word love or romance. Make sure it is special for you and your soon to be husband. Best wishes.

How are you going to carve fake jack-o-lanterns? That being said, an autumn leaf or wedding bells might be nice.

Could you carve a bride and groom into them? Might be tricky, but kinda cool... And are you going to make them all the same, or different?
