We pray when we eat, we pray for blessings, we pray for good health.

Seems to be a bit odd that we don't pray about poop. Without it we would die. Instead we hide in private and do our thing. I've never heard anybody pray about the blessing of poop.

What do you think? Do churches chop out things like that because they only want to promote God in things that we aren't grossed out by?

Thanks.

Yes funny question. I guess you can go right ahead and pray and poop. I think people do pray when they poop especially when they have a hard time getting it out. But you can do what ever is appropriate for you. I really think it is relevant praying about poop. It's just like praying about something very specific in your life that you don't need to do. It's like praying about a broken nail or a lost shoe or something. Keep your prayers in categories I mean you don't have to pray about poop..pray about living another day. I guess poop would fall in that category because if we didn't poop we would die. I don't pray about getting a good nights sleep I say: Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep if I should die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take."

In Islam you aren't allowed to pray when you fart - so they'd have a really hard time praying as they poop.

In Christianity you pray for things God gives you - you thank him for the food that he provides, the poop just happens! But hey if you want to pray for good BMs (and this might become vitally important in your later years) have at it. God is interested whenever you want to talk to him about whatever is on your mind!

Actually, I know a guy, who happens to be gay, who would've died if we hadn't prayed for him to be able to poop. He would've gone to hell, so I'm glad God answered our prayer. It's not like I don't care about the guy. I pray and read my Bible while on the toilet quite regularly. However, I don't know why I would pray before I poop, unless I was constipated. I guess people should thank God for the ability. I don't think I'd include it in a sermon though. That's gross.

Ask an older person Over 40. I bet a lot of them have sincerely thanked God that they could after some gastric changes to their bodies By the way if you feel like sending a few thoughts skyward- why not? Any time, anywhere- your Cosmic Other doesn't need you to speak to hear you - and the rest of us would probably appreciate the unzealotness of the whole idea.

Actually, I have been known to pray when I poop.

Prayer for me is more like an on-going conversation with god, not something that is to be done just at meal times or in church.

Actually, I have Crohns disease. It involves a lot of intestinal discomfort and diarrhea That is a daily problem I actually pray that I can be blessed so that I am not caught with such an emergency. And I pray that I can find a bathroom. And I actually pray thanking that I was spared such an emergency..

Funny. Um, I don't pray, but I do try to appreciate things that the universe provides for me. And let me tell you, I really appreciate a good poop.

If you ever go overseas to a 3rd world country and catch dysentery, you will become very familiar with pray, petition, and the names of as many Gods as possible.

theres not much selling point to that. and not a lot of monitoring anyone would want to do.
the prayers are, if you notice, most often done in view of others as proof of faith and compliance too.
but it is true man older men especially die at that moment because of the extra strain on the heart so saying your prayers before could be a safer thing.
