There is a possibility that your husbands chemotherapy treatment has had an effect on his fertility. There are simple tests he can take to find out. Usually a doctor can point you in the right direction. If you suspect this is the problem than you might want to read through the Fertile Hope site:

I wonder about pre pregnancy genetic counseling. I mean I dont know if there is a test that can detect if any of your offspring would have a greater chance of also having leukemia but if there is, wouldnt you want to have that test before getting pregnant? I mean you wouldn t wish that on your child would you? To go through the chemo etc? And that way you might consider adoption.

Chemo can have an effect on sperm production, the extent of the effect depends on the drugs administered and the individual.

It is worth a visit to the Dr for your husband to have a sperm count done, and possibly a genetic test done on his sperm in case there have been any nasty muutations caused by the chemo.

Good luck , and remember, if things don't work out there is donor sperm or adoption!

Your husband should make an appointment with a doctor to find out if he is sterile. It's easier for him than the tests that you would have to go through. It could be a problem for both of you, or it could be that it just takes time for some people.
