That's not a reason to put her to sleep in my opinion. If there was no-one there that night that saw it other than the one guy that claim's that she attacked him and killed her dog could be making this up. If she didn't have any blood on her at the time either that could be another reason to show that she did not do it. I've seen some people make up lies just to get rid of another person's dog just because they don't like the dog barking in the morning. If you don't know if your dog did kill or attack the person.and no one witnessed it there's no reason to put the innocent dog to sleep. Hope this helps.Kelly

If he's threatening you with a lawsuit and your pretty sure that your dog has done nothing wrong take him to court then. The man has no evidence and there were no other people witnessing your dog attacking the neighbor or the neighbor's dog.Again you said that she had no blood on her coat or in her teeth which means she wasn't likely involved in the killing. Just please don't put her down if you don't know if she did this otherwise you'll be putting an innocent dog down for something she didn't do. If you do take him to court good luck and i hope all goes well for you and your dog. She shouldn't be put down all because of a bad neighbor who might not be telling the truth.

My question would be if the dog attacked him or if it attacked another dog why was animal control not notified. I don't see any reason to put your dog to sleep but you should keep better tabs on the dog and take measures to prevent the dog from getting out ever again. Don't let this guy bully you into getting rid of your dog. It sounds like he feels intimidated by the dog or has a problem with you and is trying to be vengeful. So long as your dog is inside then he has no way to prove anything.

Please don't put your dog down without ample proof. I would not move either. If the neighbor could prove anything he would have done so already. Just insure you keep her under control and don't give the neighbor any reason to start trouble again. If your dog didn't have any blood on her coat, teeth or feet then it is likely she was not involved.

How many dogs do you have that you are wondering if you should put them to sleep!
You just asked if you should put your dog with a previous leg injury to sleep!

To answer this question the neighbor has to have some proof it was your dog that killed the other dog!!!

Tell your neighbor you'll see him in court!!!

were tere any other witnesses ??other wise its his vs yours & dogs can look very similar -- what about compairing bite marks if he supposidly was attacked by your dog compair his marks or scars to your dogs bite ....put a lonck on your dogs pen / fencing & insureshe never gets out or no one can get in -if need me get a roof / chain link top upt on the pen -- moving won't fully solve the problem as they may still know you name / last name etc to track you down -- before you do anything to your dog -- make sure you have rock solid proof it was your dog -- some people jutst see a dog & your dog may just be a similar colour or size sothey automatically think its yours.

Your neighbor sounds like he WANTS you to put the dog down. Has he pressed any charges? Has he called the athorities? If he's not doing anything you shouldn't put the dog down. Maybe your dog isn't good around other dogs.

Well, in addition to that fine advice, I am going to say not unless she's guilty but, to protect yourself from lawsuits, KEEP YOUR DOG CONTAINED. You are looking at some serious liability if your dog is accused of and found guilty of killing someone else's pet, much less to speak of a child.

If there isn't any evidence saying your dog killed your neighbors dog, then I dint see why you would have to put your dog to sleep. And you might want to find out more before you do anything.Because what if you put your dog to sleep and it turns out it wasn't your dog who killed your neighbors dog?
Then you would have lost a family member for nothing. And you don't want that to happen!

you would move just because of that? DONT PUT YOUR DOG TO SLEEP! we have a german shephard and when he sees another dog he goes to attack it..we have 2 other dogs and he just learned to get along withh and they play and everything but he constantly is trying to attack the neighbors dogs...only because hes not "used" to them or whatever..cause he doesntt have to live with themm i guess.. but dont put your dog asleep just tell your neighbor that your sorry and that youre not going to put down your dog just because of what he said..now if it was a person;; diff. story

If you've never seen evidence of your dog being aggressive towards others and your neighbor has no evidence, then let her be. I wouldn't move either. Just keep her up. If he continues to harass you over it, take legal action.
