surely. I am just a human being and I'd be very displeased and offeneded if someone doesn't respect my mom, so I can only imagine.

Yes, Jesus would be displeased. In the plan of mankind's salvation from sin, God employed Jesus and two other women. One of the women is the Blessed Virgin Mary. (Matthew 24:40-41 and Luke 17:34-36).

The Holy Spirit we talk to said that we should honor her, give her the compassion. We should be like her in being clean and pure. She conceived Jesus as a virgin and never had any sexual relationship with any man, even to Joseph, her husband, after giving birth to Jesus.

Jesus brought her up to Heaven and crowned her as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Has she come back? Yes, she had. In Fatima, Portugal, she appeared to three children, and did miracles before thousands of people who witnessed the events.

He would be displeased knowing that people don't honor his mother. Even when he was on the cross, he pointed to John and said John this is your mother. and to Mary, This is your son. Even when he was on the cross he wanted to make sure someone will take care of Her when He is gone.

Even Muhammad the Muslims prophet said many times that she is the most honored of all women on Earth as well as in Heaven.

Wouldn't anyone want their mother to be respected and honored! I would.

It all depends on what you mean by "honor". We should acknowledge Mary and Joseph for raising Jesus but that it where it stops.
I was a Catholic for years, so I know that Mary is worshiped by the Catholic church, and the worship and adoration given to Mary is a direct violation of the Word of God.
Mary is prayed to and asked to intercede on the behalf of the faithful. That is blasphemy! The Bible clearly states that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. Read your Bible. After Mary gave birth to Jesus, she presented herself to the temple and gave a sin offering. If she was sinless, why would she give an offering for sin?? The only Immaculate Conception is Jesus Christ. Mary was a human woman, born in sin like the rest of us and in need of a Savior just as we all are. We honor her as the Mother of the Lord because He loves her, but she is in NO WAY divine.

Would you be pleased if your mother was not given the respect that was due her ? Honoring Mary is not wrong because we are told to honor our father and our mother so why would be it wrong to honor the Mother of God since Jesus is our brother then Mary is our Mother. That is not idolatry it is a fact because of Mary's relationship to Jesus and her relationship to us are intertwined.

The Angel Gabriel said it best:

"Blessed art thou among women!" and Mary responded

"From henceforth ALL generations shall call me blessed."

It's there in Scripture folks. Whoever honors the Mother of God, gives honor to Christ!

In Luke 11, when a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts which nursed You", Jesus said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it."
In Mark 3, when Jesus was told that His mother and His brothers were outside looking for Him, He said,"Who is my mother, or my brothers? And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God is my brother, and my sister and my mother."

He honored his parents, and he was setting the example for us, and the bible says "honor your father and mother so your days may be long" so I think you should honor her but dont worship her.

Jesus never asked anyone to hold Mary above all women.
Jesus honored and respected women in general, which was unheard of in those days, but He did not elevate Mary above other women.

I know if I were Mary, mother of Jesus I would be ashamed and horrified that anyone would even think to elevate me equal to Jesus Christ, much less pray to me.

did He provide specifications in that regard?(seriously)

EDIT:
Why the thumbs down? Why would I or anyone else have a problem with Mary? I want to know what behaviors, attitudes, mandated in scripture, properly convey "honor."
