Yes, you definitely retain the memory of friends and loved ones in heaven. There are many who claim you knew them already in past lives. Read about Near-death Experiences, and you will see. Many come back (from death) with stories about meeting their deceased loved ones and even people they are related to but had no knowledge of. The loving thoughts that you have for your friends, and their thoughts of you are preserved for you. That is what heave is made of.

The Bible says Jesus told us we will know others and be known. Yes!
It is also in the Olld testiment too.
On the Mt. of Transfiguration, Peter, James and John immediately knew Moses and Elias, who had lived many hundreds of years before. Peter said, Matt.17:4, "Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias."
Jesus speaks of the redeemed who were from all nations, sitting down with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
Matt.8:11, Jesus said, "Many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven." Also,
Luke 13:28-30, Jesus said, "There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall SEE Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. -- And behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last."
The redeemed shall know one another in Heaven, as they are joined together in one wonderful assembly.
"Phil.3:20-21, "Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself."
1 Cor. 9:25, "every man that striveth (competes for the prize) for the mastery is temperate (has self control) in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown: but we an incorruptible."
2 Tim.4:8, "there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day."
Luke 16:9, Jesus said, "make to yourselves friends of the mammon (wealth) of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail (die) they may receive you into everlasting habitations."
