I am selling my car and the people want a copy of my Drivers liscense to give to their insurance company? I don't feel good about it. what should i do? Is it even legit??

I cannot think of a (legal) reason they would need this. Ask them why they need it. Do not offer without a really good reason and, even then, check it out.

Their insurance company doesn't need YOUR information, they are not insuring you. Never give anyone a copy of your license unless you want your identity stolen. They have no right to anything but a properly signed title and a bill of sale.

I don't know what the law is in your state but in some states there are laws that prohibit business from requiring you to provide them a copy of your drivers license.

Call your insurance company, and ask if that is a requirement.
