hey you know what?
It depends on the breed of the dog..see some dogs are very territorial and jealous. That's what my veterinarian uncle says so...and he told me it's not quite a problem because soon they'll learn how to get along.

Well as for my personal opinion...it's all up to you! It's how you treat your pet..if they feel that the other is not as important as they are...that's trouble...treat them equally and they'll eventually get along fine....i speak from experience. ^_~

Not necessarily. However, it all depends on the personality of the two dogs. If you have two dominant personalities...you may have occasional spats. The best bet would be to have one "leader" and the other laid back. You also will want to take in consideration the breed. Some breeds are more dominant and when they fight, they fight hard which can lead to injuries.
I would look at the personality of your dog. Does she have a dominant personality? How does she get along with other dogs? If she is more laid back, you shouldn't have a problem getting either a boy or girl. If your dog has a dominant personality, when looking for puppies, watch how the puppies interact with the litter. Select the less dominant one to be safe. Good luck with your decision.

I was always told 2 girl dogs fight, but I have yet to see it and I've had 2 girl dogs for over 30 years running now...not the same 2, but... Only get a boy dog if you are fixing it.

It depends on what breed you're talking about. If you have Terriers then a male would be best. I have two female dogs and they are fine, more than fine they are one. The older one is almost 7 years old and the pup is 11 months. Just remember when bring a new puppy/dog in have them meet somewhere other than your home. Then you bring them in together and it is much easier for the older one to except the new dog. All the best;~)

It all depends on each individual dog. I had two female Dobermans & brought in a female mutt that was half their size & they accepted her. The youngest Doberman treats the mutt like she is her mother. Big age difference too. When I brought the mutt in she was under 1 year old & the Dobermans were 6 & 8 years old!!

It some times happens when you have the same sex dogs. I have two girls and they've never fought. They're both altered and I got them at a young age.

It really kinda boils down to the individual dog I suppose.

I have three dogs...two females and one male. The females both got along with the male...however the two females fought until I got the both of them spayed. It really depends on the dogs though.

If both females are the dominant type, they will set out to prove who is the boss. Initially if one is much younger, you won't have any problems until it reaches adulthood. Usually about 2 years. To insure no fighting to amount to anything you would need a male.
