Okay so I just got my braces off today and they took an x-ray to see if everything was okay and they saw all my wisdom teeth in and that the bottom right one is crooked and only 1 out of 4 is crooked. SO this means I have to get it out and I'm terrified !
Please tell me how it feels [ please be honest ] and I want to get knocked out because I'm horrible with the dentist and people touching my teeth ahaha my teeth are very sensitive, when I get them polished they are very sore and I feel sharp pain =[

so please tell me how everything is

I got all four of my wisdom teeth cut out about 15 years ago. I'll be honest, it sucked. My parent's insurance at the time didn't cover me being put under so I was awake the whole time. The entire procedure took about 2 hours. Yes, that's correct, 2 hours. All 4 teeth were impacted so they needed to be cut out. I got continuous shots of lidocaine, the stuff that tastes really bad, but numbs the daylights out of your mouth. I lost track of how many shots they gave me of the stuff. When they finally started the surgery, they had to cut into each gum, and shatter each tooth. I could feel tooth fragments fly through my mouth as the teeth were shattered. After it was all said and done, I got the stitches, and the chipmunk cheeks that lasted about a week. I couldn't eat solid foods for at least a few days afterwards. Sad thing about the whole operation, not one of the teeth were bothering me. I have a small jaw and too many teeth. I've actually had 4 of my permament teeth pulled to make room for the rest of my teeth.
But remember, this was all many years ago. I'm sure the procedures have changed quite a bit over the years. I'm sure you'll be just fine. If it'll help you, take your headphones with you and listen to your music. It'll at least occupy yourself while the surgery is going on. Good luck!

I had to have oral surgery before I could get braces. My teeth were so messed up that I had to have all of my wisdom teeth and four baby teeth pulled at the same time. I would highly suggest being "put under," as thats the route that I took and it was a very good decision. You can't feel anything during surgery and it's very safe. The only pain is associated with the days after. It was pretty painful, i'm not going to lie but you will be prescribed plenty of painkillers. Just be prepared to have about 2-3 days laid up in bed. I slept more of that time than not and had frozen vegetables permanently attatched to my face. I'm not going to lie...it isn't a comfortable procedure but you will be fine and the pain is not too difficult to endure.
Good luck and I hope everything works out.

Well definitely being put to sleep is the way to go. I,ve had all of mine cut out. I won't lie to you its not a joy ride. Your dentist will numb you up real good while your asleep and he will cut the tooth out and possibly if not probably sew it up. You will get pain meds afterward. You will usually get a ice pack especially made to strap around the jaw to hold it in place. I had all of mine out as I said before and that didn't feel to good. But if I read your problem right your getting one out which will be easier to manage. As you go to sleep to get this done the Dentist administers pain medication and thats sort of what I call a I don't care shot. You will do fine. And its essential if you don't want your teeth to be pushed forward and become crooked. The end result will be beautiful teeth and a great smile! As Nike says JUST DO IT!

I just got all four of mine out in Nov. I will not say that I wasn't terrified prior to the surgery either. I had never had surgery and was not happy to do it at 31. Yes, old person that I am, had to have them removed 10 years later than most people.

I had the first appointment of the day (which I would recommend) and made sure I wore a front zippered shirt. I thought that if I wanted to take it off, it would be easier than raising it above my head. Got there and went back quickly. Got set up with two dental assistants. I was not knocked out, I had twilight sediation because my oral surgeon does not knock you out for this. Which I was not happy about. In the end, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were two different types of sediation medication they used, then they did a numbing agent through a needle in the gums. Horrible I know, by at that point you can't really feel it.

The whole time I was under, I could understand the dentist and could respond when he asked me questions or whatnot. He was funny and kept my mind off the whole thing. I'm not sure if you're doing one or all, but I did all four and honestly, took about 20 minutes. The last one was the hardest to get out, but it was also the one that wasn't bothering me. I stayed in the chair for about another 10-15 minutes while they gave me my pain perscription and grabbed my mom (said huh? Husband was on a business trip and my surgery was scheduled the day before).

I was out of the office in about a hour all told. The one thing I was expecting was being so tired very quickly after the whole thing. About 20 minutes after leaving the dentist I was really tired, but they put cotton in your mouth to stop the bleeding after the teeth are removed. My mom wouldn't let me sleep until I had taken them out. I took a nap for about 2 hours once the cotton was out and was fine.

I took Thurs. (day of surgery) and Fri. (day after) off, but honestly probably could have gone into the office if able to eat solid foods. It was about 4 days before I could eat any normal foods. I will recommend microwave pancakes while you can't eat solids. They are good, soft and let's you THINK you are eating real food. LOL!

Hope this helps. You'll be ok. It's scary, seriously. I was scared, but it ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck!

I had two wisdom teeth taken out before and I know what it feels like. It will not cause any pain while the dentist is taking them out because of the anesthesia, but after that it will. Make sure not to eat anything after the surgery because it hurts to swallow. Do not worry. It is only a one time thing. You will get over it. I mean I did.

I got Mine out on Wednesday and I'm still in quite alot of pain, but the pain pills alot too. The bottom 2 the dentist had to brake them into pieces. The worst pain so far is the other teeth moving into place. I was awake during mine but I asked for laughing gas, i remember laughing at the songs on the radio. It sucks but it's got to be done so suck it up and do it. I HAD TOO.
