Well everybody has fear of fighting, fear of getting hurt, injured or death, you are a fool or you are lying if you say that you dont have fear of fighting

this is one of the things you must face and get over to really be a good fighter and the way to do it is to compete in a full contact fight with someone, in a full contact fight you will be put under great pressure and eventually you will learn that you can use your fear instead of it using you

its sad to see what happons to some people under the pressure, i mean there are people who sometimes freeze fully because of the fear of fighting and just let the other guy pound away at you this is why full contact competitions are important, if your martial art does not have full contact comps i recoment you take up one which does because there isnt a substitue for a full contact fight, there just isnt going to be the same intent in the punches and kicks thrown at you in a point sparing of non-contact tournament

as you fight you will learn to use your fear instead of it using you, even if you are not such a good competition fighter you will steal improve you mentality because no amount of meditation will ever prepare you for a fight, the only thing that will prepare you for a fight is fighting and you can either do it in the street or do it in martial arts

Some people say that you should turn the other cheek all the time and never fight, well, if you turn the other cheek twice you have no cheeks left, the whole reason to practice martial arts is so you can say stand for your rights and live how you want and eventually someone will not be happy about it, especially if you are in school like im guessing you are where fights happon often, eventually you will get called up to a fight, either for your own sake or for that of your friends and you will make a choice of standing up for yourself or not

Well, it sounds like you have been in a few fights. So, how did it go? If you shake and feel weak before a fight, but you win anyway, what's the problem? Do you win or do you lose? I don't think I ever was visibly shaking before a fight, but I could definitely feel my heart pumping. I didn't ever feel weak either. I think the issue is more mental than physical. You need to learn to get yourself into the mindset of a fighter. You have to want to fight more than anything else and train with passion. You have to want to utterly dominate the other fighter. You have to want to win no matter the cost. You have to want to inflict so much punishment on your opponent that he does not ever want a re-match. Change your mindset and your physical reflex actions will change also.

It's alright to be nervous, everyone is ,don't let people tell you that they don't and that your a wimp, because it keeps you alert and focus. Everyone that has been in a few fights know don't ever under estimate the guy in front of you, he's just as nervous and scared of gettin hit too! Just because he don't shake or get a weak feeling all over or hot, does'nt mean his nervous too, all them feelings you have is ADRENALIN pumping in your system meaning "IT'S TIME TO KICKASS!"

Hi,

If you have got to fight don't fight anyone you cannot beat.

If you know you can win you should not be nervous.

If someone calls you out who you know for sure is a bad *** an is going to make mince meet of you, better you back down and save face than fight an have no face.

If someone really bad starts into you tell them you know they can beat you so why bother. if they push it further tell them OK but they better make sure you can never come back, because you will, and you will finish it then.

Skip

its not the adrenaline rush, its the ANXIETY thats causing the shakes which is caused by the adrenaline rush, its quite common
used to happen to bob in intermediate when bobs friends used to scrap on the field
when bob got to high school it stopped.
All you need to do is calm yourself down and wait it out a little, its very similar to getting over excited except that you dont have to be excited, if your gonna bang somebody and you got the shakes just keep bouncing until the fights over.

its your adrenaline, the best way to overcome that is to learn how to relax during stressful situations, you got to put your mind at ease, and learn how to control your breathing because when your adrenaline goes up, your heart beat goes along with it, its natural and everyone experienced this before, ask any pro martial artist what it was like their first time and i bet they will admit to being nervous.

You're just nervous. Just take deep breaths and think in your mind that you can beat the **** out of whoever you're gonna fight.

Practice meditation. Close your eyes for a couple of minutes while sitting on the floor and concentrate on a peaceful place.
Visualize yourself sparring and practicing combos, kicks, punches, etc.
