Don't you think they'd ask their questions in the science section? The fact that they ask them here proves that they don't actually want to know the answer-they have some other motives in mind.

The science section would eat them alive. I bet those guys have an creationism drinking game over there.

Of course, they get eaten alive here, too. It must be kind of discouraging being a creationist in this forum.

Posting a science question in the religion and spirituality section often means the asker does not really want an answer. His goal is to ask a question that he believes proves some scientific knowledge to be wrong, or that science does not yet answer, and make the implicit claim that the only other explanation is a god, and specifically, the same god he happens to believe in.

It's the "god of the gaps" - intellectually bankrupt, since it favors ignorance instead of knowledge, and because of the contained logical fallacy.

There are no drinking games in the science section, but more outright refutations come out faster. By the time you change accounts and say, "I agree, let's see them argue with that!", there have been six detailed responses pointing out exceptions to Creationist "facts".

there are two outcomes, both of which conform to their prejudices, the question will be structured differently depending on the expected outcome. either their opponents don't know the answer, which is seen as a weakness (never mind that the whole point of science is to identify and find out about what we don't know), or they do know the answer, which is seen as dogmatic materialism since the answer doesn't agree with their religious beliefs.

That is completely silly and it ignores statistics, namely that most scientists, doctors, technical people, college students, etc. are believers.

You guys try to hog all the glory of science, when you're only a minority.

Now, nothing I have said here is untrue, so how will you rationalize the thumb downs I probably will receive, since you say you are about truth and such?

P.S. Honestly, how many atheists here ever answered questions in physics or mathematics? Whenever I test the waters here on R&S with even a simple mathematics question, the atheists start complaining about not liking math.

R/S is more active for some reason, Ive posted Political questions in Politics and got no response, then posted them here and was flooded with response, maybe that's why?
not sure you may have a point.

Well I study astronomy and some physics as well as anthropology and have a degree in biology and I still have a strong belief in God, in fact stronger now than before.
And I have never asked a question about science here.
Mostly I defend my belief in God from people that are unspiritual and God haters.

Assumptions, assumptions!

They ask here because far too many christians are BUYING INTO this evolution BS that people like you spew about like it's a fact. They want to make sure christians are educated with ALL the scientific data, and not just the censored version people like you give them.

First of all, notice that IDers always say "no, no, Creationism is not ID" yet all the arguments for ID quickly devolve into Scripture-filled diatribe.

I think it might have more to do with the fact that they're incapable of categorizing their questions properly. Check out my Best Answer to this question:
