come up with a way for other users to request the return of an account for a fellow user who seems to be unfairly suspended? Maybe some sort of a petition that could be circulated on the site to allow regulars to support each other. Its obvious to all of us that the current system is not fair to all and that deletions, suspensions, etc. do not seem to be targeting those who are truly obnoxious; so could there be some way for all of us to be involved? Suggestions?

I am not familiar with the forum yet, is there a specific place to go to in order to make a request for someone else? Or is it more like a message board?

aunt, I took your advice and posted a suggestion on the forum. Anyone interested in helping to with this, feel free to post to my thread (my user name is shown) or to create one of your own. Maybe we can come up with a better way to police our small corner of the web. :)

Post your comments about the suspension on the forum. The staff has said that's the best way to get a message through to them.

I think the people who've been here the longest, and who've contributed the most should have a say in who stays and who goes. Then again, the last thing I want to do is spend my time voting trolls off the forums.

There is no simple way to level the field. With any system, there will be those who will try to exploit it by thinking outside the box, teaming up, crying wolf, etc. The best thing Yahoo could do is make a hard rule against advocating child porn/abuse, profanity and personal threats. Everything else goes.

It's a free forum, and people will find ways to say what they want no matter how much Yahoo tries to make this a clean, family-friendly place.

NO!

Yahoo can't handle account suspensions already and you want a clique of users to decide your fait?

Why do you believe this is "your" corner of the we? this very attitude is why there are tons of uneeded deletions because that very atitude causes some people to report others for having an oppinion of their own.

yes, there should be something like that. I mean, if we filled out a petition and all that for them, then Yahoo should realize they weren't trolls, because why would we want them back then? lol.
