I'm going to buy the acuvue 2 contact lenses from 1800contacts, and am going to be trying them for extended use.

"Acuvue 2 is designed to be worn as a two-week daily wear lens (which means you take the lenses out each night). These contacts can also be worn as a one-week extended wear lens (which means you can sleep in them)."

^ This is a line from the website, showing that it can be used as 1week extended use contacts.

My questions are:
1- Will the contacts come off in the shower?
2- I will wear them at night, so I've heard the rumors of it getting stuck in the back of your eye, but my optometrist says its just a rumor and there is a membrane behind my eye so it couldn't, so nothing to worry about when sleeping right?
3-Can i carry over days? Like i could wear the contacts 4 days in a row take them out and wear the same pare a day later for 3 more days to add up to the seven day total?

Thanks, help is appreciated.

They will not come out in the shower unless you directly spray them with the shower water.

I have had laser surgery, but when I used to wear contacts, I had acuvue and went swimming with them.

They never get stuck in the back of your head, however... sometimes (rarely), they drift as far away as behind your eyelid, but then they come back soon. This usually happens about 3 times in 10 years, and it only happens with new fresh clean first time applications. Some people like to describe it to others as going behind the eye and lost forever (yeah, impossible).

You can carry over days, and even weeks. Should you? no because of the possibility of infecting your eye. So, make sure you clean your lenses each time before you put them back into your eyes.

Yes, you can wear them in the shower, overnight and take them out for 1 day and put them back in. Use Opti Free storing solution. You can buy it at Walmart or Walgreens etc. Also, a really good extended wear contact is Optix O2, and Night and Day. The Optix 02 are about 23.00 per box and are to be thrown away evey 2 weeks so 1 box lasts 3 months. Thes contacts are especially designed to be worn over night adn allow more oxgen flow to your eye than Acuvue. don't get me wrong Acuvue are good but not the best for over night use.

Also contact lenses can be rubbed to the corner of your eye and it sometimes appears to be slipping behind your eye. This can cause some irriation but rest assured they will not go completely behind your eye. If this happens gently masage your eye rubbing it toward the front and rinse with saline solution. This has happened to me a couple of times but not a big deal and I repeat it will not go behind your eye.

1. They shouldn't come off in the shower. Just try not to flush your eyes with water. But in general, showering shouldn't make them come off.

2. No they will not "roll" to the back of your eye. But because your not giving your eyeball as much oxygen as you should, you'll want to make sure to use re-wetting drops often, espically right before you take them off.

3. Yes you can "carry over" on your days.

I would recommend talking to you eye doctor though. There are so many new advances in contact lenses that are better for extended wear. If you like the Acuvue brand, please ask about the Acuvue Advance or the Acuvue Oasys.

They're awesome for the fact you dont have to take them out for a month, they're bad because when i started wearing them i got green gunk in my eyes every morning after sleeping, they dry your eyes out much more than daily contact lenses, and now im starting to see floaters which could be or may not be connected to the use of extended contact lenses.

Regarding the first answer above, Acuvue Advance is only approved for daily wear, not extended wear (sleeping in the lenses).
