Yesterday I was exchanging friendly e-mails with one of our Christian regulars. She thinks that it is the Muslims who are doing the reporting resulting in deletions. At first I thought she was just shifting blame but I got to thinking. The last violation I got was because I called Islam and Christianity idiotic.

I thought I would just put this out there for you all to consider and ponder. I am making no accusations at all. Just suggesting that maybe we should all think about this.

Ramjet and Uncle Wayne are beloved Christians here.

What do you all think?

I think we all appreciate everyone's thoughts, but now really is not the time to start singling groups or anyone out.

Personally, I think it's a wake up call for all of us to watch our language. What's so hard about not using the words "dumb" "stupid" "idiot" "*****" and any other of a myriad of phrases, accusations, slurs and epithets? Let's face it - when we do we are playing with fire. And worried about our precious accounts??
We are all suppose to be civilized people here. No matter what we believe, we should at least be able to use civil language.

All of us... every single one... should be examining how we treat people regardless of what we believe. We all claim to have morals - let's use them. And let's not take ourselves so darn seriously either! People - have a sense of humour for crying out loud - or ignore the question and move on...

Let's have some fun!!!

If you make a statement that can in any way be construed as "insulting" a religion (which, of course, includes practically every statement made on this forum), and enough people get offended and complain about it, you'll get deleted. It's absolutely useless debating about it. Try "appealing" a deletion if you really want a laugh.

I don't pretend to know the numbers, but I'm sure there are lots of occasions on which a bunch of Muslims complain and get somebody deleted. Same Christians, atheists, etc etc. More Muslims than Christians? I have no idea.

I can at least say that I've never reported anybody for simply stating an opinion, regardless of how much I disagree with it. Nor have I ever blocked anybody, although I've been blocked by a few (Grendel).

I think it takes more than one report to get a question or answer deleted, but I don't know how many exactly. But it is true that sometimes people report things that are not really a violation of Community Guidelines. That's what the thumbs down is supposed to be for. If you do a lot of unjustified reporting, you will be deleted yourself. I was told that by a Yahoo staff member at the birthday party last December.

Gorgeous,
I tend to agree with you as has happened a lot. It is probably NOT the Christian or the Atheist members here. I do not know that it is the Muslim group either. I do not want to shift any blame where it is not actually due. We all need to do what we can to keep our tempers and feelings under relative control. Have a wonderful evening and a glorious week. It is great to see you asking questions again.
Thanks,
Eds

The very reason i do no longer come here plenty at the instant. whilst i began out just about 2 years in the past, the poetry section became superb. I bear in mind how we inspired one yet another, laughed, have been given upwards of 25 responses. assorted of the somewhat gifted writers at the instant are long previous. I have not have been given any motivation or desire to jot down and placed up here. you are able to exceptionally plenty narrow the priority all the way down to three yet no person looks to care adequate to shield it. I trust reference to the homework and little ones. people who placed up poems for the faculty artwork could be ashamed, IMHO. Who do they think of they're helping? it is all approximately them, no longer the pupil they're harming. What motivates somebody to break attractiveness has constantly escaped me. stable on you for asking this, Ma.x.

I think it might be a single individual with numerous IDs, or a group of individuals with planned targets. I posted question yesterday and it vanished less than 3 minutes later, though it wasn't a violation.

That's twice it's happened before the question had time to be read by more than a couple of readers.

I doubt it's Muslims, frankly.

Why speculate? If you called Christianity and Islam idiotic in the same question, then you violated the protocol of Yahoo Answers. This is a place where we can show respect and behave in respectful ways. If someone calls you an idiot, do you feel they have treated you respectfully?

Why am I not surprised that the Muslims are to blame for the reporting? I dont agree with this at all, this is ridiculous.

Im a Muslim and the only thing I report whether I think a question or answer is insulting or not is porn, that crap dont belong here. People are entitled to their opinion whether its retarded or not or in disagreement with mine or not.

There are a couple of Islamic women who I find to be very caring, kind and easy to get along with on here. So, I'd be hesitant to blame it on one group in particular.

I do know that some people take out personal vendetta's on others here, it's a shame. So if someone took one joking question, one answer posted in jest - just one little thing like that personally - they are #1 CRAZY - and #2 hellbent on getting the object of their anger booted off. It's sad and pathetic.

I can't wait until Ramjet and Uncle Wayne are both back.

The deletions here are the same as in real life. It is the people that only want their own thoughts out there. It is the radicals of every religion and even hard-line atheists.
