My face is clear because I use proactiv solution. I went into a merle norman cosmetic store and they were explaining to me that microdermabrasion should take care of the brown spots left by old acne on my face but the prices were crazy high. I found some kits on e-bay from avon and I know they are a well known good company. I need to know does it really fade the dark spots or is it just a waste of money?

It chemically removes the surface layer of skin, so yeah, it will remove brown spots. But it'll make your skin red for a while. If you are colored, then it could cause scarring.

Microdermabrasion kits do not, can not work. They make your skin look good while you use them; they make you feel like you are doing something that is going to help. But if you want those old acne marks erased, go to a good aesthetic dermatologist, and get it done right. And it really isn't all that expensive, really it isn't, because it is a for good and all treatment, not keep on and keep on with it.

PS: The very last thing you need on that nice, newly clear skin is heavy, greasy Merle Norman cosmetics.

Oil of Olay works great. Please consult someone about it possibly interacting with the proactive to avoid serious burning and irritation. You may need to stop the proactive for a few weeks prior to using any at home or even in office micro treatment. But like I said Oil of Olay kits work very well. Good luck and congrats on your clear skin!!
