I don't think that is a reason to put the dog down unless she is in pain ALL the time. Joints commonly get stiff after injuries. Try a joint supplement like msm, glucosamine or chondroitin.
Also, a pain med can be prescribed to help her feel better.

Now she should have more good days then bad days put it that way....if she unhappy most the time then yes. However they have plenty and plenty of pain medications you can put her on and they work wonders! Seriously they really work... deramaxx, metacam, previcox just to name a few. Stay away from asprin and human pain meds they can be really bad on the liver and dont give as much relief but I would take her to your vet and see what the best type of meds they have.

NO!!, All you need to do is get some pain meds, and keep him warm, like get him a jacket, with fleece or something. OR get some PJS, for dogs that cover up the legs. You shouldnt put it to sleep because it doesnt deserve it.

have you taken her to the vet? did they plate the leg? there are pain meds your dog can take. make sure you have looked and thought about every option open to you before you put her to sleep. where did she break the leg. which leg? no i'm not going to tell you to put your dog to sleep until you tell me what you've done to try and help her. there are some pretty simple things to try first. and it would be awful if you hadn't.

I would NEVER NEVER NEVER put an animal to sleep over something like that. I have a 20 year old poodle (I am 19 & my mom had him before I was born) he gets stiff from being old but the vet gave him med to help with it & it really works. you may want to check into that.

Arthritis is painful. Before going for the prescription drugs, try looking up a herbal medication called Boswellia.
This is otc. Both dogs and humans can take it. My husband has arthritis and he takes Boswellia. He tells me that it works most of the time. Sometimes when it's raining, he does take his prescription drugs, but 99% of the time, the Boswellia works.

I would ask your vet about giving her something for the pain during the cold months before I would consider putting her to sleep. I believe you should try every option to make her comfortable before making a decision like that.

I would not recommend putting her outside if this happens. Don't think that just because this happens SOMETIMES that an extreme action is needed. Always consult your vet as well. Ask for some medications that could dull or ease her pain.

Not even maybe. There is lots your vet can do to give her a better quality of life. Suppliments and pain killers will help a lot. There is no reason at all for her to be put to sleep.
