How do they determine the players for the President's Cup and the Ryder Cup?

Do the golfers have to qualify for these tournaments, or are they chosen by the team captains?

there is a strategic points system.. im not exactly sure how they do the points but to put it more easily.. the better you play the more points you will earn.. even more for majors.. and theres always atleast 2 captains picks

The Ryder cup is based on a point system. I can't remember how they choose the Presidents cup team but I think it will be about the same as the Ryder cup based on a points system
