A box of instant pudding will keep the cookies soft for days. You can experiment with flavors.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 C butter or margarine
1 1/2 C brown sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp salt
12 oz chocolate morsels
1 1/2 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking soda
Beat butter, sugars, vanilla with mixer until creamy. Add eggs; beat till fluffy. Add flour mixture gradually. Add chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes approximately 12 dozen.

Just don't cook them as long. Take them out while they are still soft enough that touching one with you finger makes a small spot collapse in the center. Works very well, especially if you are making toll house cookies.

Then keep them in a covered plastic container or a zip-loc bag.

actually, if you make each cookie larger, they come out much fluffier and softer. Instead of a "rounded tablespoon" of dough on your cookie sheet, I use half again as much for each cookie. You don't get as many, but they are larger and much softer/fluffier. In fact, I just baked a batch yesterday and my daughter and friends chowed down on all 3 dozen, the little oinkers!! LOL

Instead of using all white sugar use half white half light brown sugar. Also try not to over bake them. They may look like they are not done, but if you pull them out of the oven just when they start to get brown on top they will be softer too.

Add about a Tbls. of light caro syrup to your recipe!

you do not need to add anything. Just take them out of the oven two minutes earlier.
