Are you doing the full renewal of vows or just a party? Did you not have a reception the first go round?

Renewals are simple, but it all depends on what you have in mind. Set a budget and stick with it. Do you want to do the ceremony indoors or outdoors? Do you have a month in mind? How much planning do you want?

Hotels cost more but don't involve as much planning on your part. Consider renting out a Shiners Temple or just great hall somewhere.

If you want to go cheap, have it in a park in an outdoor barbeque style. Meat on a bunch of grills is rather inexpensive. Outdoor at Penn's Landing would be very pretty but you have to remember that outdoor at a location means you have to rent everything--chairs, tents, tables to put the food on, etc. Whereas when you rent a reception hall, most include the tables and chairs. So do some pricing before you decide.

I mean this may not be your wedding, but if you are planning on making a big party out of it--it should be all about your vision. What kind of renewal ceremony do you want?

Can you give us some details so that we can be more helpful?

Jennifer, she never said anything about gifts, calm down.

You could have a garden wedding or in a park or restaurant.
Penn's Landing, the Art Museum, or at Waterworks? You can have the ceremony and reception in the same location, that way it's less to pay for.

Having a second wedding just to get gifts is tacky.
