4 weeks, oh my goodness. I hope it wasn't just because you wanted him that early and its a better and reasonable reason. Anywho, there has to be a reason why he is not drinking, and puppies can get dehydrated very quickly. I would recommend taking him to the vet immediately. Without veterinary care, you may lose him. Good luck.

A dog can be traumatized leaving its mom that early. How long have you had it? I got a pup not too long ago and she wouldn't eat or drink for almost the first two days. There was a lot going on for her, so the last thing she was thinking of was eating or drinking. We tried to make her as comfortable as possible. But being that your pup is that young, I would suggest taking it to the vet if you can't get anything into it by tomorrow.
Hope all goes well.

I have a 4 week old puppy.. I offered her water yesterday, she refused.. She is happier drinking mom's milk.. So that's what she is doing until she is ready to give the water a try..
Anyhow, if your puppy won't drink, try soaking the dry with milk replacer and water.. make it soupy, and she'll get enough moisture for now.. Once she gets used to that, then try offering her the water.. She needs to learn to lick rather than suck.

There is a test for parvo. That would be my biggest concern in a young puppy. I hope the vet checked for dehydration. Have your Boyfriend take the puppy to a new vet. This does not sound good at all.

Ask your vet what you should do. It only takes a dog to loose 3% of its hydration do die! So be quick in whatever choice you decide on. Maybe dipping your fingers into the formula and rubbing it on the gums of the puppy may get it started, keep it warm also.

It might be okay - is he still peeing? What are you feeding - if it is canned food they drink a lot less. If he is not peeing or it is coming out really dark - you need to call the vet and get him on an IV.

I don't know if this will help- but have you tried brushing water across the puppy's lips so he has to lick it off? Perhaps once he does that enough, he'll decide he likes this drinking business.
Good luck!

You need to contact a vet...if he eats he can drink. You can't let him go on like that, with only dry food he will dehydrate in a couple of days only.

get him to the vet. meanwhile, force feeding liquids wont hurt him, so do it with the baby dropper. just be as gentle as you can.
