And they were false then too.
So, what makes your religion right, while all of the others were wrong?
And don't give me answers along the lines of "I have faith" or " it's not something I can explain" or even "you just don't understand" because those are just cop-out answers.
You say you KNOW that god is real. Fine. Knowledge is verifiable, just like the truth. You say he's real while the others are not, prove it.
Give me ONE single shred of credible evidence that supports the existence of your magic sky pixie.
And if you can't (and I doubt you can, no one has been able to do so in the history of your religion after all) then you have to consider the possibility that your god, is no different than Thor, Zeus, Baal and every other deity that was ever worshipped; that is to say, imaginary.

Sam,
instead of threatening me with an imaginary hell, try answering the question next time.
Thanks.

Blondie,
that was the other cop-out answer I was looking for. Oh and for the record, yes, yes you do have to prove it.

"When you have come to the edge of all light that you know, and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown -Faith is knowing One of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or You will be taught to fly”
There is no evidence to prove that God exists. For a believer, the witnesses given by the apostles, the wonders of nature, the cell, the human body, birth, death, life, all are signs that God exist.
But that is not verifiable, and one can never build faith in any religion, based on verifiable facts.

I don't go to a church building for that reason. Jesus said the time is now that true worshippers will worship in spirit and truth. Don't give up on God. Just go to church and play along. If you judge them to be whatever unpositive thing you end up saying, then you are not at the church building to help them. Hypocritcal, because I don't go, but I would tell you to.. I don't know everything, do what your gut tells you. The spirit of truth is in us. Listen to it, but I do know the part about don't turn away from God

Sorry Skippy your argument is as old as evil itself. You cop out just as fast as we do (as you say).
You say knowledge is verifiable? Last I checked science proved Bumble Bees cannot fly nor can frisbee's. Also the thought that starts the synapses firing on the nervous system cannot be seen we can only map it once it starts. Oh, we cannot dupicate the scientific origin story of creation so I guess we do not exist either! Whew! Problem solved.
Plenty of people in history have run smack dab into God and found out how real he is. Perhaps one day you too will get the pleasure of meeting him. I would cite examples but you would just say they are stories. (an argument that could be used on everything 100 years ago and further back)

I don't care about your running on about God isn't real because the argument tired to. As long as you believe there has to be scientific evidence for what is felt in your heart and soul and can be life changing( which can and will not ever happen.) there is no reason to try to convince you. And instead of reading a couple of verses in the bible and saying that is fiction, try reading the whole thing(which you would never do). So until then don't tell me that My God is fake.

anyone who tries to use science to support their belief in a higher power is wrong, I am not a christian, but I do believe in a higher power and he along with she go by many names and that human understanding has molded the ideas into the box that fits best with them, one of the main reasons I believe in a higher power is my soul, if you say you are soul less then how do you account for your emotions? that imperceptible reason for feeling sad when you see destruction, the joy you feel when you see your childs first smile, the love you feel for your mate that goes beyond the physical, the enjoyment of seeing something beautiful, when music touches your heart, when you take a walk in nature and take the time to look around you, and you feel peace, these things can not be explained scientifically, and remember psychology is not science. I have a soul, I feel emotions greater than others, ergo, I believe that there is more.
and I get a thumbs down for believing I have a soul. You are an ignorent child incapable of seeing beyond your anger.

I've never "argued" my religion, so I'm not sure what you are talking about. I can't argue it to you. God gave you free will so that you can believe as you see fit. I was given the truth in the Bible. It holds many eye witness accounts. I do not believe in sky pixies.
I can not prove to you God exists. You either believe or you don't. I can not prove that Thor, Zeus, Baal, or any other deity did not exist. I do know that the one huge difference between Christianity & other religions is that we are promised life in heaven after we die. And our Messiah is the only messiah that had eye witness accounts of reserrection.
God gave you free choice. You are more than welcome to believe what you want. Thank God for that!
God Bless you!

Because we feel him....we feel his presence...we know deep inside that he is real and that he loves us...There are times when I am feeling sad and this peaceful feeling will just come over me...I am at peace with whatever the problem is..it is a supernatural feeling and there is just no way with words....we can explain it. It is another realm of spirit that....well, you just have to experience it. It is Joy than comes for no reason other than you know that you don't have to worry about tomorrow....you just have to shout for joy...the God who created the Universe,,,is aware of me...me....and when he blesses you with his presence,,,you cannot explain it to anyone....if you were ever in a Pentecostal atmosphere,,,you would feel the moving of his spirit.....the room will just go silent...and then the slow, sweet moving of the spirit begins..we all feel his love at the same time...No, you are right...I can't make you see,,,,,,

You do realize that your whole statement is opinion and not fact, right? You won't understand BECAUSE you don't want to.
1 Corinthians 2:14 -- The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
You've obviously heard about God and Jesus, and you've chosen not to believe. Nothing anyone says is going to change your mind. So why stir the pot and bash what we believe? At least be polite like many of your fellow Atheists on Y!A that I've come across, and agree to disagree.

because the opposite of jesus is satan so if its not for jesus, its against him that makes other religions false and to say what you are saying makes you look like an asshole and a prick, the world is falling apart as we speak so when the end comes lets see if you still have the same oppinion. Its a shame that ppl like you still exist being athiest is one thing, but to say that Gods words are wrong makes you look foolish cuz God made you he can see and hear you and he controlls everything that goes on around you too bad satan runs ur brain and has you fooled. satan has alot of skill in trickery & minipulation of the weak human mind humans suck thinking christianity is false but im not worried cuz the world is coming to an end and closing then youll all see what it is im from the deep gutter of west philadelphia iv been shot, stabbed and incarcerated but i know what is real and what is not i dont believe in much but the presence of Jesus is so real its scary. we are human we are nothing god is in controll you ever notice how everything is in order and it happens all organized? well thats no coincidence. allow me to tell you the truth without offence; satan uses people like you to draw people to hell with him. you are weak in mind and flesh and are easy minipulated by the devils ways so if christianity is so wrong then why so interested? ask yourself why do you even care?

Are you protesting because of our faith, or your own doubt in what you claim to believe. Why is it so important that you convert us, if as you say we are wrong, how does that affect you? Are you asking for 'credible' evidence maybe because you want to believe?
The thing that that seals it for me is something I can tell you that I have experienced, I cannot make you experience it. This is why it is faith. I have felt God, I have seen Him move in my life and without a doubt I know it was Him. If archeology does not convince you, and what I believe is the Word of God, and all the others who believe then maybe you are asking the wrong people. Try asking God to prove Himself to you and then wait for an answer. I believe you will receive one.
