If your friend is actually starving herself, she may have a condition called anorexia nervosa. If they boy won't like her because she's not skinny, he's not worth it. But never mind him.

You need to talk to a trusted adult about your friend--your parents, her parents, a school counselor or teacher, someone you would trust with your life. Eating disorders are nothing to mess around with, and your friend needs help.

Sorry but she is doing the right thing. If she is still chubby she still needs to loose more weight. This is more important than any guy. The change shall benefit her. Her health is what is important here. Her being thin ( not all bones ) is better for her health. If you wish you where her size then, maybe you should join her and loose some weight. Rule of thumb for women is for a 5 Foot woman she should weigh 100 pounds. you add 5 lbs for every inch over 5 feet. The safe weight range would be plus/minus 10%.

5' = 100 lbs 90-110 lbs
5'1" = 105 lbs 95-115 lbs
5'2" = 110 lbs 99-121 lbs
5'3" = 115 lbs 104-126 lbs
5'4" = 120 lbs 108-132 lbs
5'5" = 125 lbs 113-138 lbs
5'6" = 130 lbs 117-143 lbs
5'7" = 135 lbs 122-148 lbs
5'8" = 140 lbs 126-154 lbs
5'9" = 145 lbs 131-159 lbs
5'10" = 150 lbs 135-165 lbs
5'11" = 155 lbs 150-170 lbs
6' = 160 lbs 144-176 lbs

It's wonderful to see someone who worries about their friends enough to seek help for that friend. With that said, take your friend out for lunch or dinner, then spend some time talking to each others; talk about your interests. Then when appropriate, ask her why she want to starve herself?

If she feels that she is fat, suggests that you both exercise, walk together after school, during weekends. With healthy eating and exercise, tell her how you both can lose weight the healthy way. Tell her that most people who starve themselves, go on binge eating afterward and gain more pounds. If her boyfriend say she is fat, then tell her to find someone else... if her boyfriend cares, he would help her reduce weight, and not allow her to starve.

Good luck to you. You're her angel at the moment.

I'm taught it's all about control. It's a way of feeling in control. She has to find other ways to feel more in control and hopefully she will start eating again. If it gets worse do seek medical assistance and advice.

Yeah you need to talk to her about this before this goes any farther. tell her that you and her should go on an exercise program and that this will help tone her body not that she doesn't already look great.
