My german shepard of 8-9 years of age is sick and wont eat and when she does she vomits it back up with a lot of a white foamy substance. She pants and is breathing faster then every, and we just dont have money for a vet. Is there anything i could possible do? my father wants to have her put down a.s.a.p and i just cant bare to have that happen to her. Is there any medicine or dog food type that might help this situation? thank you for any of your answers you may have, thank you!

If you just can't "bare" her to go through this, take her to the vet. A dog food change or medicine not prescribed by the vet will not help you. If you love your dog, take her to the vet. And if you don't have the money for the vet, find some.

It's normal for a dog's emesis to be foamy and even bright yellow. She's probably breathing so hard because she's forcing herself to throw up. I know it's super hot outside where i live...is your dog outside in the heat? She could be having heat stroke. To check for this, you're gonna have to take a rectal temp. A dog runs 101 to 102 degrees normally, so if she's over 105 then she's stroking. Get her to a cool spot and into lukewarm water to cool her off. If her temp is above 107, sorry she's a goner. Hopefully, it's not heatstroke.

So if it's something she ate, let her puke until there's no food, then give pepto bismal based on her weight. It will probably take a few doses, maybe thru tomorrow morning, to get results. Do you think she got into any poison, like rat poison?

Most vets will let you make payment arrangements. I did it once when I was in college and my dog needed emergency life-saving surgery. For the person who said it may be bloat, dogs with bloat don't throw up due to the stomach being twisted and closed off. Bloat is a serious thing, but I don't think that's what this case is.

That is not an excuse to not care for a dependent.
It is the law in many states that you can't let a dog suffer if it needs a vet which yours does tehn it has to be taken care of . this is a case of dog cruelty.
FORGET ABOUT PAYING FOR THIS ONLINE COMPUTER AND GET THE MONEY AND GET YOUR DOG INTO THE VETS IMMEDIATELY IF IT WERE YOU i'M SURE YO9U WOULD FIND THE MONEY TO GET YOURSELF TO THE R.
Call the vet a lot of them will work with you if you explain your problem./

The red liquid is blood. He needs to get to a vet asap. Since he is a toy breed they dehydrate really quickly and can easily get hypoglycemic. I don't let my dogs go a day throwing up. They usually end up in the emergency vet by the end of the day if they don't seem better and sometimes sooner if they don't seem to be doing well.

Call up your vet - it's free - and ask if s/he recommends a visit. If the vet can see your dog soon, I'm thinking that's the way to go. You can work out payment plans or something. Please don't let your dog suffer - if she's sick, she needs to see the vet.

You cant imagine how many dogs eat poison plants. There are a multitude of them that will cause a dog to get sick and some do die.

Lots of liquid! Call the poison control center, it's free. Be sure you can name the types of plants you have, call the Master Gardeners in your local univ. coop. extention (free).

I really hope people looking to get a dog read this - I cannot believe that a person would get a dog if they cannot afford to care for it properly. Sell the big screen TV and the cell phone man!

Well, it is not cheap to have an office visit and euthanasia either. If you can afford that, you can afford an office visit to see what can be done for the dog.
If it has a bad ending, I hope you will not get another pet since you cannot afford this one.
She really should not just be left there to suffer, so I hope you do something!!

take ur dog to the vet most likely she is poisoned. the same thing happened to my aunts dog unfortunately the dog died because she didnt take quick enough action. check ur house and c if ur dog got into any cleansers or bug sprays or other toxic products. and check and c if it got into any sweets, chocolate, grapes, or ice cream. also if it killed an animal that had rabbies it might have gotten rabbies.
