He disappeared in app. 1875 .... left his family in Denver to find work and the last they ever heard from him he was in Walla Walla, WA.

The appropriate State archives may have the record. Remember though that record keeping was not the greatest then. The death could be recorded in old record ledgers, there my not be a death certificate.

Geneology websites. The best and most complete is maintained by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City Utah. You can access a lot of their info through the internet at LDS.org.

Their records library also has books and archived micro films that can be researched. If you want to send me as much info as you know about him I would be more than happy to go do the research for you. I live in Salt Lake and pass the Family History Library frequently. It would be no trouble. The website also has help desks and information requests. If I can assist you in any way please let me know.
