In my opinion, I DON'T think you should say things like "I work too hard," "I am a workaholic" etc. These responses are really cliché and so those who are applying for the same position as you will probably say the same thing. If you say this then your employer will probably know you're lying. Be a little more honest and original but always end your answer on a positive note. For example, if you never had a previous job, your weakness can be your inexperience, but end off this answer by saying "although I lack experience, I am a fast learner." Good luck!

That is one of those "stupid" questions that potential employers sometimes ask. Avoid the cliche` answers like "I am a people person!" Your weakness doesn't necessarily have to be a character flaw. It might be a skill that you have to work on.
You can tell them that your parents brought you up in a positive environment, and always told you your strengths, and never pointed out any weaknesses (if it is true). You might also tell them that you don't come to a new job with old weaknesses. If you have any, the job will bare them out! These are not "tried in the fire answers", but food for thought to add to your arsenal. GL!

That brings up my favorite interview question, when is it okay in business to lie? Hopfully the obvious answer is Never, but in my experience that is not the answer most people give. Honesty and integrity are key to any job, even an attorney. Tell the truth, it always works out better in the end.

lol at the reply above regarding spelling and grammar, but basically depending on what type of job you are going for, how about putting a positive spin even on a weakness, for instance you could make being dedicated to doing a good job one of your weaknesses..........sounds better than chatting on the phone with a stiff drink in hand, which is one of mine lol lol

regards and good luck with the interview

Turn it into something positive...like "i am a workaholic, and I need to learn to balance out life because I know that a well rounded lifestyle is conducive to creativity & productivity"
something along those lines. you can turn it around from just about any angle

---------
This is a basic example, you need to be creative- but NEVER, NEVER say an actual weakness that applys to your job. Anyone who tells you different is at the bottom of the totem pole.

Tell them you have trouble leaving your job at work, that you go home thinking about work, and how you can solve this problem or that problem.

Your "weakness" is that you just might get too involved with your job, if that is possible.

Other than that, you can't think of any weaknesses.

Good luck!

Be honest, but not TOO honest. If the job is for a receptionist and you say you aren't a people person, you won't get the job. But, if you say that you don't like to fail (or) you can't take no for an answer, they will probably still give it to you.

I don't know what you're applying for so, how about saying your secretarial skills are weak. (or a skill that wouldn't be that important to the position) I've used that one and I said it was because I haven't used them in a long time. Truth is, I didn't want to be given any secretarial work. ;)

def. dont say that you are a perfectionist.. it never works

say that you arent very social but you think that this job will help you do better in life...

depends what job you are getting interviewed for.

you have to name a weekness and try to put it as an advantage.... like.. twist it , so that it makes you look good
