R U kidding we heard these from infancy onward.
1 no other God's should we worship.
2. No carved image or any thing because God is a spirit and he isn't like anything we see on the earth. So we are not to worship any person place or thing.
3. Don't take up God's name in a worthless way. Like showing desrespect for his laws. In other words do what it says. It would be disrespectful not to obey God's laws.
4. Set aside one day a week to worship God. Take the time to read the bible.
5. honor your parents and you can do that by making sure they are taken care of in old age. Like social security and old age pension and like medicare.
6. shouldn't kill people
7. you shouldn't have sex with people your not married to.
1 timothy 3; says you should be a husband of one wife.
8. You shouldn't take other peoples stuff, like stealing.
9. you shouldn't lie
10 That has to do with desire or inner most feelings.
Like you shouldn't want everything you see.
By the way dude there is 10 commandments.
didn't your parents drum those into you growning up.
I mean you lied that was what the 9th commandment.

You mean 10 Commandments (the decalogue)? Seven is for the Noahide Laws, not the 10 Commandments (which superceded the Noahide laws to be considered a "Righteous Gentile").

It depends on how you break up the ten commandments. Additionally, there are actually 3 sets of commandments in the Bible.

The phrase "Ten Commandments" generally refers to the very similar passages in Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21 (similar, but different). Some also distinguish between this "Ethical Decalogue" and a series of ten commandments in Exodus 34 that are labelled the "Ritual Decalogue".

And even if we are talking about the same set (let's say Exodus 20:2-17 for sake of argument), they are split up differently depending on your denomination.

For Catholics:

1) I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make for thyself an idol
2) Thou shalt not make wrongful use of the name of thy God
3) Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy
4) Honor thy Mother and Father
5) Thou shalt not murder
6) Thou shalt not commit adultery
7) Thou shalt not steal
8) Thou shalt not bear false witness
9) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife
10) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house.

I can list the ten, I can list the two and I can list the one. I know of no group of seven commandments unless you are referring to the logic of taking precautions against the seven deadly sins.

seven sins
1. don't be proud
2. don't be a liar
3. don't be a shedder of innocent blood
4. don't be a deviser of wickedness
5. don't be impulsively evil
6. don't be a flase witness
7. don't be one who stirs up dessention among his brothers

ten commandments
1. no other gods before/besides Him
2. no idols (rep.s of God worshipped)
3. no misusing God's name
4. remember the Sabbath(s)
5. honour your parents
6. you shall not kill
7. no adultery
8. no stealing
9. no lying
10. no covetting your fellow man's stuff

Reminds me of the Mel Brooks sketch in which he plays Moses Struggling to carry 4 large stone tablets.

As he's announcing to the crowd he has been given 20 commandments by god, one of the tablets slips from his grasp and smashes to pieces. He hastily amends his speech to proclaim the 15 commandments but drops a second stone mid-sentence.

"Ten Commandments" he says, kicking the debris aside. "God has given us TEN Commandments."

It would seem there's been another mishap.

Actually, there are around 300 that were given to Moses!
We usually only refer to the main '10 commandments' though.

With reference to Command number 2.....why don't people actually USE his name?????
It's in the original scrolls thousands of times.....why did His name get removed!!!!????

The seven Noahide laws that apply to non-Jews are:

Prohibition of Idolatry: - There is only one God. You shall not make for yourself an idol.

Prohibition of Murder: - You shall not murder.

Prohibition of Theft: - You shall not steal.

Prohibition of Sexual Promiscuity: - You shall not commit adultery.

Prohibition of Blasphemy: - Revere God and do not blaspheme.

Prohibition of Cruelty to Animals: - Do not eat the flesh of a living animal.

Requirement to have just Laws: - You shall set up an effective government to police the preceding six laws.

EDIT: seven is a "typo..." ROFL!
