Depending on what type of unit you are in, you can be assigned to a door gunner position as an added duty, but i am thinking that as a 15T, you would be a crew member as a mechanic, and move on up to be crew chief, I have been on fllights where the chief was the gunner before, so try that, if not , find an aviation unit and email or call the first sergeant there, he would have the answer you seek

The guns on a UH-60 are manned by the crew chief. Door gunner is not an MOS. No you will not be a door gunner your whole career as that is a minuscule part of being a crew chief.

That is an additional duty assigned to the flight crew. Typically, 15T's don't leave the ground, and remain at the hangar. Try going to the Army's website (www.goarmy.com) and researching any and all MOS's involved in aviation. I am not sure what the MOS for flight crews are.

No specific MOS. I qualified expert with the M60 and was 11C2P. As a result they figured I wouldn't be afraid of heights and would have no compunction about hanging out over the skid soooooooo, they said: OK, you, door gunner, get in there. My MOS didn't change.
