An orange is called an orange because it's orange!?!? A banana is called a banana because it's shaped like a banana. I honestly don't know why I bother some times. An apple would be called a green, but apples aren't always green. Sometimes they're red, which would really confuse the natives. Grapes are also green and red. Which would probably confuse everybody.

Not at all difficult to answer: the color orange is named after the the fruit. Not all bananas are yellow. There are also red bananas.

i have often wondered that myself..why is orange an orange and not a banana a yellow, why is a red cheery called a red cherry and not a black cheery called a black cherry, why does the pink red square drink taste pink, why does green cola taste green?
these questions are just here to keep us all guessing.

because the color orange was named after the fruit. the fruit was not names after the color. Bananas are a different story.

banana not yellow! the lemon she is yellow like the lime is not lime, it is green. the red is not apple, the apple is red. you not habla englisio, si?
