Drink up! As a matter of fact you are just a third away from an Irish Car Bomb. Take a pint glass fill it half to 3/4s full of Guiness. Take a shot glass and pour half Jamesons Irish Whiskey/half Baileys Irish Cream. Drop the shot in the glass and chug. Tastes kind of like chocolate milk and after a couple of them you'll be on the floor.
Some have clever rhymes with beer an liquor making you sicker. Just be a man and drink up!

Yes, it is safe. It will not make you any sicker than if you drank the same amount of alcohol with only one or the other. The only risk to mixing drinks is that most people lose track of how much they are drinking and get a lot drunker than they intended. THAT is what makes them get sick.
I occasionally have an evening with friends where I start with a few beers, then a scotch or two neat followed by a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, an after dinner liquor and a brandy nightcap and I never get sick because I spread the drinks out and NEVER get drunk enough to throw up.

I think it totally depends on how well oyu do mixing booze. I know in Polish bars, 'beer and a shot' is a very common drink.
Persoanlly, I would have no problem with this combination, but that must be taken with the understanding that I also do not have a problem with an even of drinking which includes beer, multiple kinds of vodka shots, rounds of Tequila, rum AND Jagermeister, and have been told that this is an unusual talent.
But, really, I think that beer and whiskey is a pretty tame combination.

I'd say it was safe.
Guinness is made by twice roasted barley which is then fermented with yeast.
Southern Comfort is a neutral grain spirit (at 35% abv) which is flavoured with peach.
So in there most basic form, they are both grain so its not a problem to mix your drinks in this way.
The problems start happening when you drink loads of creamy drinks, you make your self sick!
Of course, if you drink in excess, you'll be ill, but that goes without saying.

Don't be soft - pour the whisky into the Guinness.

I went to the pub and bought some pints of Guinness and topped them up with whiskey, just the other night. I wasn't ill, nor did I become hungover, but my poo smelt foul the next morning,
They may play with your guts, but unless you have allergies to either, they wont kill you.
Drink responsibly kids!!!

You would be far better off following it with a nice Jamesons Irish Whisky, instead of an american mixer liquor (as nice as Southern Comfort is though!)

yes! as long as you can hold your drink. if you cant handle your drink very well then you might regret it in the morning. if your worried drink a few glass's of water. mixing drinks is fine as long as you space them out and dont get plastered every night as that wont be good for your liver.
