My yellow lab lived to be 14 yrs old. Usually bigger dogs begin to develop hip dysplasia as they age. It's quite common in Labs. You'll want to watch out for this as the dog ages. If you catch it early enough, your vet can help treat it.

Pretty long. My oldest black lab is 9, and my last lab died two weeks before her 13th birthday. Good luck with your lab because they are the best dogs; I have two right now.
