i've read that certain foods like beans, brocolli, cauliflower, soy etc cause flatulence which is a common complaint among vegetarians.
is there a way to prevent this?

I'm just glad mine don't smell like rancid meat!

Try charcoal tablets...it will quiet the noise, but leave you with a very interesting bowel movement.
