I have been with the company about a year and i just had a baby and they said they are going to give me 4,000 severance. Can i still get unemployment?

What state are you in? How long have you had this position?
How long at previous job? Have you been written up two or more times for any reason. Need to know more info than you gave. The severance pay will go against your unemployment. Good luck.

Apply right away, and the u.c. people will determine what you have coming and when you'll get it. The severance might affect your unemployment benefits.
