i just like the way it looks and wondering how to get a picture like this

That shot is not that sharp, but as an available light portrait it doesn't really have to be.

Just put your subject in front of a fairly bright window. No flash. Use a tripod if possible. The photo in question has blown highlights and a WB that is too warm for my taste.

it's not too hard, just turn your flash off and sit your subject next to a window on a sunny day. be sure to hold the camera very steady or set it on something to mimic a tripod and you'll get similar pictures to the one you've got there! good luck, best wishes~

Looks like over exposure and no flash. In digital photography can be created by under exposure and increased Contrast.

thats not really a clear picture...but you need a source of light...it'd be also a lot better if i knew what kind of camera yo uwere using that way i oculd tell yo uto mess with some of the tools on your camera.good luck

Clear? not what I would call clear

The image is made exposing for the shadow. hence the highlights have flared
