primarily add red to make the right value and then adjust with brown/black and white for the tone. the red will darken the green making it more of a forest green, if you add too much red it turns to brown and then a dark blood red.

Try adding black / dark blue into the colour bit by bit 'til you get the desired colour. it sounds daft but i found it works

a pinch at a time of raw that is raw RAW not burnt...raw umber.
